Welcome

Dear Fellow Northeastern University Army ROTC Alumni:

Welcome to the ROTC Alumni Society website. Please take a few moments to re-acquaint yourself with the site.

Some of the recent highlights you will find on the website include:

  • the 23 February 2008 Liberty Battalion Military Ball which featured USMC GEN Neal of Gulf War fame as guest speaker.
  • the 08 February 2008 visit to the Natick Soldier Center (Natick Labs) by Cadets and Cadre of the Liberty Battalion
  • the Veteran's Day Memorial Ceremony and Remembrance Ceremony in November 2007

You will also find a re-vitalized Mentorship Program. Mentors are needed to support this fine program. Please take a few minutes and review the program to see if you can "lend your experience" to assist our next generation of Army officers. You do not have to live locally to support this program. Remote sponsors are welcome too.

Many of our ROTC Alumni society are serving the nation on the many battlefields of the War on Terror. Watch soon for "Letters from the Front" as our alumni check in to keep us up-to- date on their experiences.

Finally, I would like to reach out to the Golden Graduates of 1958. Beginning in 2005 with the Class of 1955, we have honored our Golden Graduates and our newest officers at Commissioning by inviting the Golden Graduates to present the commissioning certificates to cadets. Last year eight Golden Graduates presented commissioning certificates and copies of the US Constitution to the Army's eight newest lieutenants.

We are proud to announce that this year's guest speaker will be MG Wayne Wagner (ret) from the Class of 1958. We need seven (perhaps eight) Golden Graduates from the Class of 1958 to assist at this year's commissioning ceremony on 1 May 2008 (Thursday) at Faneuil Hall. The commissioning is planned for 1600 so that it does not conflict with any other events on Graduation weekend.

Please help us by stepping forward one more time! If you can help us, please contact me directly at (508) 233-6239 (work - Natick Labs), 603-978-1455 (cell) or by email at joseph.cooper@us.army.mil

Thank you. Hope to see many of you (especially the Class of 1958) at Commissioning.

Best Regards,

Joe Cooper
